What's Happening?


2022 was quite the year. When I reflect on all that has happened, I see my family's resiliency. While we haven't seen many hardships, there have definitely been a few hefty blows. However, despite life's low points and what's sure to be continued hard times, we have adapted and will continue to cling to each other and walk with integrity. Life is not one constant up or down, so we know that 2023 will bring new opportunities and wonderful days along with hard ones. But how we face each day will determine the type of year we have. Integrity, kindness, patience, endurance, presence...these things will make the difference.


When I reflect on all that has happened in 2022, I also see so much joy and so many memorable moments. From ringing in 2022 at Epcot to ending it surrounded by close friends, our year has been filled with family, friendship, and love. We clung to each other in difficult times and celebrated together in the good times. We got to explore new places and relax in our familiar ones. There were definitely some new experiences for all of us. It was a year of growth and discovery. Our family grew a lot and not just in emotional/mental/physical ways, but also with the addition of new members. A sixth daughter was born to my older brother and his wife and I had the great joy of watching two of my brothers get married in 2022.


2023 has already started with a bang. On January 1st, we rang in the new year with close friends, and then Rich was officially ordained to the ministry. He is now Pastor Richard Davis. The same day, we celebrated Christmas with my extended family. Later this spring, we'll fly down to Arizona to witness Rich's youngest brother get married. I'm excited about what is already panning out to be a wonderful year.


I can't end this newsletter without highlighting what an amazing year it was for the business. Cyn Davis Photography had its biggest year yet with 24 weddings photographed, all of which were so unique and memorable. I'm so honored to have been able to work with so many wonderful people, from couples to families and other photographers. Last year was truly amazing. This year is lining up to be awesome as well. With 9 weddings already on my calendar and September fully booked, I can't wait to see where this year takes Cyn Davis Photography.
