"And he took her in his arms and kissed her under the sunlit sky, and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls in the sight of many."

—J.R.R Tolien, Return of the King

Nick and Nicole were married on October 2nd, 2021 at the beautiful Foxburg Inn and it was magical. The day began in Nicole's hotel room where I began styling details. I loved all the sparkles and pinks that Nicole incorporated into her day and the wooden florals were beautiful. Jenny Butterfield Designs did a fantastic job with Nick and Nicole's custom wedding rings.

While my second shooter, Gabriella, was taking care of getting candids of Nick, I hung out with Nicole and her bridesmaids as she got ready. She looked absolutely stunning in her MarWin Bridal gown. Nick was looking pretty sharp in his suit from Men's Wearhouse.

When both Nick and Nicole were ready, we took them out to the garden for a private first look. They were both buzzing with excitement! That moment when Nick turned around and saw Nichole for the first time with that big grin on his face was amazing. I couldn't help but get a little misty-eyed.

Since we had the time, we decided to do portraits before the ceremony. We were able to make use of the garden, the hotel square, and the deck over the river. I just love the portrait of them by the water, it's so soft and romantic. I honestly couldn't get enough of Nicole's gorgeous gown. Gabriella and I kept posing her different ways and at one point I asked Nicole if she felt like a model yet. Nick couldn't keep his eyes off of her either.

We had some fun with the wedding party, testing out some slow shutter speed shots and making everyone laugh. I always love when there're familiar faces in the wedding party, it just kinda feels like a reunion with everyone there.

When we were finished getting wedding party photos, it was time for the ceremony, which was held in the garden, which was gorgeous. Those pretty little wooden flowers were strewn on the grass and the pond sat nestled behind them. Nick and Nicole said their vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. My favorite part of the ceremony had to have been when Nicole walked down the aisle with her dad. I don't know why, but it just tugged on my heartstrings a little extra this wedding.

After the ceremony, we did some quick family portraits and then got to the reception. The speeches were all so emotional and full of love. Again, Nicole's dad brought out the tears in those listening to him talk about his daughter. And then Loyalty Entertainment brought the beats and the party got started. It was so much fun getting to capture the dancing and joy that took place on the dance floor that night. Throughout the night I kept sneaking some of Knox Bakery's delicious cookies. I couldn't help myself, they were so good!

It was a wonderful blessing it was to be the photographer for this joyous day and, thought it's been a few months, I'd like to extend a big congratulations to the beautiful bride and groom!
