What's Happening

September has arrived and with it, the last of our summer days. The kids have been back in school for two weeks and we're all trying to readjust to our regular schedule, which means we're all exhausted. School, electives, church, and weddings have us running in every direction as is our normal. It was nice to take a slow summer this year, something we hadn't done in a long time. We spent much of our time in the pool and enjoying our summer evenings together. We also finally got together with Alex of Wild Native Photography to have family portraits done. Obviously, I can't post all of them, but as you can see from the few in this post, they are beautiful.

I (Cynthia) have been pretty quiet on social media over the last few months as I attempted to be more intentional with my time. I wanted to spend less time online while the kids were on summer vacation. That said, I still kept plenty busy with work over the summer. Between my own clients and working with other photographers, I photographed a total of 9 weddings from June to August, 3 of which were at the beautiful White Barn in Prospect, PA. Aside from the shooting aspect of the business, Rich and I made the decision to switch our web platform from Wix to Pixieset, which meant I had to spend time creating a whole new website. Since we opened Cyn Davis Photography in 2016, we've been utilizing Pixieset to host and deliver our client galleries. In the years since, Pixieset has expanded and offered more features to photographers, truly creating a beautiful all-in-one platform. We already utilized them for client galleries and our studio manager, why not make the whole switch and create a website through them too? It just made sense. So here we are on the new shiny website and a new way of doing things. So far, it's been wonderful.

With everything that's been going on over the summer, I am actually going to be taking a vacation to rejuvenate next weekend...and I'm going without my family. This will be my first time vacationing without my family, so I'm a little nervous, but I know it's going to be a wonderful time. I'm taking a few friends on a ladies' trip to Disney World and we're so excited. Though I'm going on my last summer hurrah, Rich will be at home managing the family and the business. Actually, it was his idea for me to take this trip. I'm so blessed to have a husband who not only encourages my dreams but also takes action to bring them to life.

Now that summer is nearly over (I'm holding on until September 21st), what are you most excited about for autumn? I'm most looking forward to all the upcoming weddings and there are a lot of them!
