It is 11pm and all three of my kids are asleep. Miraculous. (EDIT: It is now 1am and I just got the baby back to sleep.) So naturally, as mothers are prone to do, I'm getting laundry done and washing dishes and scrubbing floors and dusting furniture and paying bills and--
I'm sitting on my couch watching Netflix and drinking a Pepsi. It's not often that I get to watch anything other than Disney movies or Sofia the First, so I take advantage of it when I can. I'm also taking advantage of the fact that I don't have kids attached to me by updating my blog.
It's been a while since I've posted and a lot has happened. The biggest change is I had a baby. His name is Blake and he's amazing! My photographer friend Ashley did such a great job capturing the birth of my boy. I'll write a separate post about it later, but I will share a picture of my little cutie.

My maternity leave continued for a month after his birth and most of that time was spent adjusting and trying to keep life as normal as possible for my two daughters. They've done surprisingly well.
On July 1st, I held the Great Love Story Contest to kick off my return from maternity leave. I truly enjoyed running the contest and reading each of the love stories that were sent in. The competition was fierce and very close. The winners were announced the following day via Facebook Live and I'm very excited to shoot their session in October.
The 4th of July rolled around and we decided to light our own fireworks. My youngest two crashed for the night before dark even fell, so they missed all the fun, but my oldest stayed awake and loved playing with the sparklers.
Later that weekend one of my city's local firefighters passed away. I volunteered my time to help document the procession and eulogy. I didn't know Gray Nagy, but I had seen him around many times and it was very moving to see the entire city pay their respects to a local hero.
This week, I worked hard on redesigning my website. It took me the whole week because...well, kids. My 2 year-old isn't overly fond of anything that prevents her from climbing onto my lap. She has to tolerate the baby taking my attention, but she draws the line at my laptop. Most of my work is done when the kids are asleep or when my husband is home to occupy them, so I tend to be a night owl...as are many mom entrepreneurs. I was able to get my website looking the way I want it, I just have a bit more tweaking to do. I'll be super excited when I'm done.
More exciting than finishing up my website is being able to go shoot some couples sessions. I have two coming up this Saturday in Pittsburgh and I'm so looking forward to them. We came up with some great ideas that I can't wait to bring to life. New content is coming sometime next week so stay tuned.
For now, it's seriously time for bed.
