Once Upon A Time: Family Portraits

You're getting two installments of my Once Upon a Time blog series this month! Hooray! I'm gonna be honest, sometimes it's hard to come up with something worthwhile to blog about, so I find it difficult at times. But I can go on and on about my husband! I'll try not to gush too much about him (although I really can't help it), I just wanted to highlight this man as Father's Day approaches.

As I write this, it is just 4 days until I get on a plane and head to Haiti, where I'll be on Father's Day. My husband is going to be home with our three kids proving that he is the best man suited for the job of fathering our monsters. He is taking the week off to allow me the time to travel and serve in Haiti. He shows love to me in so many ways and this is just one of them.

Another way he recently blessed me was by taking pictures with me. We don't often get pictures together other than selfies and even that doesn't happen very often. When our anniversary came and went without a picture taken of us together, we were able to take a moment on Mother's Day to get in front of the camera. I love these self portraits that we were able to get.

That night, he even took control of the camera to capture some pictures of me and the kids together. This happens even rarer. I'm always behind the camera capturing moments of my kids, or my kids with my husband, but I'm very rarely in the picture.

Because I wouldn't be here for Father's Day, I took this opportunity to get some pictures of Richie with our kids. He is such a wonderful daddy to them. Every day when he comes home, the kids are ecstatic to see him. They love every adventure they get with him. They go crazy and let out big belly laughs when he pretends to be a t-rex. They love snuggling with him when we watch movies. They cheer him on when he has softball games. When I'm out of the house for one reason or another, he somehow always manages to get the kids to sleep without any problems, while getting whatever household chores and school work done before I'm back. He's like super dad.

Happy Father's Day to Richie. A loving husband and amazing daddy.
