Kayla approached me one Sunday after church and insisted that we schedule her senior session. Awesome! I don't need to be convinced to photograph seniors. I don't do it reluctantly. I LOVE photographing seniors! I think senior sessions are so much fun for a lot of different reasons and Kayla's was especially fun.
Kayla is a beautiful young woman with a good work ethic and a great sense of humor. She had me laughing so much through out the session, even to the point that I had to put my camera down to catch my breath. Usually I'm the one trying to make the teens laugh.
We decided on Friendship Park, mainly because of the lake. The park has gorgeous scenery and some mean geese that I've had run-ins with before. Luckily, we weren't bothered by the geese this time, but we did have a few ducks show up to steal the spotlight. Kayla's boyfriend, Dalton, showed up as well to lend a hand and appear in some pictures. He did a wonderful job setting of smoke bombs for me. Those smoke bombs were a impulse buy, honestly. I was walking through Walmart after the 4th of July and saw them on clearance for like $2 and said why not? If they worked, cool, if not, no big deal. I was actually pretty impressed with them for the price. I most impressed with Kayla, though. She was the real star of this session. She made me laugh, she did a great job posing, and she looked stunning! I loved her wardrobe selection and her freckles were popping.
After she graduates high school, Kayla plans to attend Stark State College to study medical instrumentation sterilization and phlebotomy. When I asked her what her favorite quote is, she said it was one by Ayn Rand.
"The question isn't who is going to let me, it's who is going to stop me."
Kayla is going to rock her senior year! Check out these pictures from her session.
Can't resist adding a behind the scenes picture here. Between shots, Kayla would make faces or tell jokes and I died laughing.
Here's a behind the scenes picture taken by Kayla's mom. I got in the water with Kayla to get the next shot and that's when I met our ducky friends.
