Cassie + Tim | Succop Nature Park Wedding

Once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a Fairy Tale.

The sky was hidden behind a veil of gray overcast the morning of Cassie and Tim's wedding at Succop Nature Park. Rich and I pulled up to the wrong building, but quickly found our way and said hello to the bride. Despite the uncertainty that had surrounded this long awaited day and the threat of rain, this wedding ended up being perfect. Succop Nature Park provided such a magical backdrop to this day and all the details of the day pulled together to create such a fairy tale of a wedding. I was in awe of the gold painted leaves in the floral arrangements. All About Reclaimed by Jeff Double worked magic with the florals and venue spaces.

GETTING READY Cassie and Tim got ready in room separated by the stairs landing inside the main building. Katie Davidson used heatless curlers in the ladies hair, which isn't a technique I've seen used on a wedding day, but it did the job and allowed the ladies to relax while their hair curled. Allison Renock Makeup did a wonderful job and made Cassie look absolutely flawless, like a porcelain doll. Her blush toned gown from One Enchanted Evening suited her so perfectly.

Being only across the landing, I was able to stop by and say hi to Tim a few times, but for the most part I left Rich to it. I loved looking through the pictures to see the guys helping each other with their ties. The gray tuxes from Men's Wearhouse looked great paired with the ladies' portobello colored dresses from David's Bridal.

THE FIRST LOOK Once their wedding looks were complete--or nearly complete since the boutonnieres weren't on the guys yet--Tim stepped out on the back patio to wait for his bride. The sun was high and baring down pretty hard casting some fun shadows, so I had to adjust my settings and flash while Tim waited for me to give him the go ahead to turn around. Cassie was standing right behind him at this point and they were both laughing. Finally, I gave the thumbs up and Tim turned to take in the sight of his gorgeous wife-to-be. They beamed at each other and the joy was contagious.

After we finished with wedding party groups and portraits, it was time for the ceremony. I love the freedom of outdoors ceremonies and being able to walk around and get as far or close as I want without walls getting in my way. However, weather conditions and sunlight can be unpredictable...but this day it worked in our favor. It never did up raining and there was a perfect overcast during the ceremony, so the lighting was beautiful and soft. The space for the ceremony was a like straight out of a fairy tale. Cassie and Tim were wed by the lake under the large willow tree. It was so dreamy.

Cassie and Tim's ceremony was personalized with written vows and a unity ceremony that involved a time capsule. After exchanging rings, they took a bottle of wine and their handwritten vows and locked them in a box to be opened on their first anniversary. I hope to see more couples adopting this unique tradition. That box will be such a lovely keepsake in the years to come.

This ceremony was so lovely. The adoration on Cassie and Tim's faces throughout the ceremony was beautiful to see.

Cocktail hour was held inside the main building, where the cookie table and was set up and a mini bar was out on the patio. I am much more likely to hit up the cookie table for some needed carbs than to eat wedding cake. The cookies were awesome, I couldn't get enough of the cute little peach cookies, they were so good.

The reception was held out at the pavilion, which was lit with string lights adding to that magical feel. I liked the little lanterns decorating the sweetheart table, I thought those were a nice touch. Medures handled the catering and the bar and they did fantastic. I remember really liking the shrimp, which isn't something I'd usually eat at a wedding, but they were scrumptious. The wedding cake was by Pennie's Bake Shop & Espresso Bar. The DJ was from Loyalty Entertainment and I'd been looking forward to working with them ever since we met at the Pennsylvania Bridal and Wedding Expo a few years before. This is a company that is amazing at what they do and I definitely recommend them.

Some favorite highlights from the reception were the maid of honor's speech, a guest singing "Isn't She Lovely," and the dance off.

This wedding was such a breath of fresh air after months of uncertainty. I'm happy to be able to say congratulations to the bride and groom!
