Katie and Mike were without a photographer for their wedding and it was less than a month away. Their original photographer canceled due to Covid concerns. Their second photographer had a medical condition that required surgery, so she contacted me to see if I had Katie and Mike's date available. I shouldn't have.
Sometimes unexpected twists turn into secret blessings. Covid caused my calendar to empty, which seemed like a bad thing at the time, but it opened me up to other opportunities, like the opportunity to be there for Katie and Mike when they were starting to doubt if they'd have pictures of their day. They were such a sweet and relaxed couple and I'm glad I was able to witness these childhood friends get married. And now I can even say that I've witnessed an officiant use sign language during the ceremony, and that was pretty cool.
Katie looked absolutely gorgeous and Mike had the look of a man who knew he couldn't be luckier. His personal vows to Katie were so heartfelt and filled with joy. This sunny day in October couldn't have been more beautiful.
