Love doesn't make the world go 'round. Love is what makes the ride worth while. - Franklin P. Jones
Early August, the beginning of what many deem to be fall. Not me. I hold on to the last shreds of summer until September 22nd rolls around. However, even I have to admit that the fall vibes were strong in this sunset engagement session. It wasn't too hot and the setting sun cast the perfect golden hue on the trees of Moon Park. I'd never been there before, but it was such a pretty location for Nick and Nicole's engagement session.
Nicole was one of the bridesmaids from Cassie's wedding back in June, so it was really great to get to chat with her and Nick about their fall wedding. Fortunately for them, planning has been relatively unaffected by the woes of 2020, and they're hoping the year takes those woes with it. At the time of their session, they talked about still needing to secure a DJ and cake, but for the most part they were pretty confident in the planning they had accomplished.
Nick and Nicole met during their freshman year at Clarion University through the university's Facebook group. After some casual chatting, they met face-to-face on a park bench and then had their first date at Starbucks. Nicole thought he was funny and Nick thought that was grand. She liked him and there was a connection. They continue to spend their time doing casual things like going out for walks, enjoying movie nights, and eating out. Eventually, casual became serious and Nick began planning a marriage proposal. It would be during the fireworks show and Nicole would be breathless and it would be perfect.
Except it rained that night and the fireworks show was cancelled.
Rolling with the punches, Nick didn't let the weather deter him from following through with proposing. Instead of watching fireworks, they were at the hotel. Instead of loud, it was quiet. And Nicole was still breathless. And it was still perfect.
I loved getting to walk around the park with these two and am excited that they're having me do their wedding photography next year. Check out their pretty Moon Park engagement pictures below!
