Frequently Asked Questions

Do you travel?

We are lovers of travel and adventure and have valid passports. At this time, we only open our calendar to 3 destination weddings and sessions a year. However, if we are traveling for leisure or for other business, we sometimes open our schedule for additional sessions at that location. To get on our travel schedule, follow us on Facebook and subscribe to our blog.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel within a 100 mile radius of Steubenville, OH is included. If your wedding or engagement session takes place outside of that range, additional travel charges apply. Travel charges may include: gas, car rental, hotel stay, flights, and incidentals.

Do you have a second shooter?

Yes! We are a husband-wife team, so typically we work together for weddings that are 8 or more hours long. However, with an increase in bookings, there are times that we will each be leading our own separate weddings. In those cases, if the collection includes a second shooter, we bring in other photographers to second shoot. Coverage by a second shooter is included with the Fairytale and Legend Collections. However, a second shooter can be added for $500 to smaller wedding collections.

Can I add more time the day of?

Of course! Our a la carte hourly rate for weddings is $400. - For portrait sessions, we add time by 30 minutes at $225.

Do I have to order prints through you?

While we always advise that you order your prints through our professional lab, we do provide a print release so that you can have prints made elsewhere. However, we cannot take responsibility for the quality of prints made through outside print services.

Can I customize my collection?

Absolutely! If you need more or less hours, we can create a package that fits your unique needs. You can even upgrade your package by adding on additional time, sessions, or products. We offer a wide variety of prints and albums by WHCC.

Do you offer styling for portrait sessions?

Hair and makeup styling is available as an add-on to individual portrait sessions for an additional $200. Please include your desire for a hair and makeup artist in your initial inquiry. We will work with you to style your session in a way that captures your vision. We utilize Pinterest to create mood boards and get an idea of your aesthetic.

Are you insured?

Yes! As a registered, tax-paying business, we carry insurance through Hill & Usher.

How far in advance should I book?

For weddings, most couples book approximately 6 to 12 months in advance, some book as early as 2 years out. If you want to guarantee that we're available for your big wedding, we recommend booking as soon as possible. Elopements tend to be more flexible with dates, however, we still ask you to contact us as soon as possible to start planning your elopement with us. - For portrait sessions, our schedules fill very quickly, so it's best to book as far in advance as possible. Most clients book their sessions a month in advance.

Can I book my wedding without a date?

We recommend you have a solid wedding date confirmed with your venue before booking any other vendors.

I'm ready to book, what's my next step?

For weddings, you will need to sign a contract and pay a retainer of 30% the package total. We can meet in person for this or we can send you the documents via e-mail. The remaining balance will be due 30 days out from your event, which can be paid all at once or split into a payment plan - For sessions, a non-refundable 50% retainer and signed contract are required to secure your session date. We can meet in person for this or we can send you the documents via e-mail. The remaining balance is due by your session start time.
