Alex and Nicole

met in high school during chemistry class and became high school sweethearts. Then as adulthood came, they decided to take a break, lasting ten years. Eventually, they found their way back together and are now preparing for their upcoming wedding this October. They've been happily back together for 5 years.

Nicole is a fourth-grade teacher and Alex does I.T. work. In their time off, they enjoy bingeing their favorite tv shows like the Sopranos, playing board games, and reading everything from fantasy to true crime. They really enjoy staying at Airbnbs, especially if they have hot tubs. They'll grab a book and sit in the hot tub all day during their entire vacation, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. If they could find an Airbnb with a hot tub in Hobbiton (a movie set tourist destination in New Zealand for Lord of the Rings lovers), it would check off all the points on Nicole's dream vacation list.

Nicole looked over at Alex and asked. "Where would you like to go?"

"Actually I just want to go to Philadelphia," he deadpanned and we all laughed. "No, but I'd like to visit Germany."

"He's really fascinated with World War II history," Nicole added.

While they are originally from Brooke County, where their wedding will be held, they currently live in Richmond, VA, and have done the majority of their planning from there. As their wedding day fast approaches, they're excited to have their family and friends celebrate and have fun with them. And in the next few years, these cat parents look forward to owning a house and maybe having a kid.

Though the temperatures aren't what I would have preferred for this early spring engagement session, I loved getting out to Oglebay with Alex and Nicole while they were briefly in town. I had a wonderful time with them and look forward to what their wedding day holds.
