It's not often that I play with my soft box or creative lighting for an engagement session, but on the day that I was to shoot Carissa and Charlie's session, it was dark and raining. When we arrived at our location, it was a downpour, but Carissa and Charlie were going to be going out of town, so it was now or never for their engagement session. The two of them powered through cold October drizzle. While the sky was too dark to allow for just natural light, it was so much fun getting to play with my lights and get the chance to hang out with Carissa and Charlie.

Carissa has been following my photography journey for years. We were actually introduced to each other years ago by a mutual friend when she was in high school. She and Charlie have known each other since they were kids. Life took them in separate directions for years, but when the time was right it brought them back together. Now they're planning a summer wedding, which I can't believe is just around the corner. I'm so excited to be able to spend the day with them again, it was such a good time chatting with them about life, despite the rain that wouldn't let up. Maybe not the most ideal conditions, but it allowed for a really relaxed and casual time with a great couple and we were able to create magic.
